First year of Engineering is common to all branches.It basically covers the core courses in Applied Physics,Applied Chemistry,Elements of Mechanical, Civil,Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Engineering Mechanics,Engineering Graphics,Engineering Maths and Workshop practice/Computer fundamentals.

In order to properly cover and co-ordinate theory and practical teaching of these subjects, their laboratories and theory classes are under the overall supervision of ASGE department.The department has four dedicated classrooms, one for each branch.In addition, there are four labs for Physics,Chemistry,Electrical,Mechanics which are looked after by the ASGE department.

The department is staffed by highly qualified and experienced teaching staff in all the subjects who handle the responsibility of conduct and upkeep of different labs.The department strives to provide a positive, healthy and encouraging environment for student learning.
